Goodman Backpack Drive a Huge Success

Madison Credit Union participated a little differently this year in the Goodman Community Center’s Annual Backpack and School Supplies Drive.

As a consistent donor for the drive for the past seven years, the Goodman Community Center asked if we were willing to be a school supply drop off site. Of course, we jumped at the chance to help one of Madison’s beloved community centers. Goodman’s 2023 goal was to equip 500 local youth with the supplies they needed for school, a goal that was not only reached but surpassed.

Madison CU used funds from chocolate sales and our employees’ jeans donation fund to provide over $500 in backpacks and school supplies. Our wonderful members and amazing community also stepped up and brought it boxes and bags full of school supplies. Some members even gave monetary gifts in lieu of supplies. We were humbled and proud with how everyone stepped up to help the kids. A child feeling prepared and equipped for school can help give them the confidence to succeed. It also helps struggling families with relief when looking at the ever-increasing cost of school supplies.

Our deepest thanks to all those that supported the backpack and school supply drive. Together we made a huge difference.
