Annual Meeting Recap: Worth the Wait

This year’s annual meeting looked a little different than planned. With nearly the entire MCU staff hit hard by COVID earlier in the season, we made the call to postpone rather than power through. We finally gathered on the evening of April 27th — storms on the horizon and all — and we’re so glad we did.

The evening was designed with connection in mind. Good food set the tone, and interactive activities throughout the night gave members a chance to share what matters most to them — their goals, their concerns, and their ideas for the future of the credit union. Conversations flowed freely all evening, the kind of genuine back-and-forth that you just can’t replicate in a newsletter or a survey.

When it came time for the meeting itself, we had some exciting updates to share.

SavvyMoney — Free Credit Monitoring in Online Banking

We introduced members to SavvyMoney, our new credit monitoring program available right inside online banking and the mobile app. With SavvyMoney, you can keep tabs on your credit score, understand the factors affecting it, and get personalized tips for improving it — all at no cost to you, just for being an MCU member. If you haven’t explored it yet, log in to your online banking account and check it out.

MCU Assist — Free Financial Coaching for Everyone

We also officially introduced MCU Assist, our new free financial coaching service — and yes, it’s available to everyone, not just MCU members. Whether you’re working on paying down debt, planning for a home purchase, building a budget, or just trying to figure out where your money is going each month, MCU Assist connects you one-on-one with a Credit Union Certified Financial Counselor at no charge.

Sessions are available virtually or in person, and you can choose your coach, date, and time yourself. There are goal-specific tracks for debt repayment, budget planning, home buying preparedness, and retirement planning, plus a general Financial Check-Up option if you’re not sure where to start. Visit madisoncu.com/mcu-assist to book your session.

Thank you to everyone who braved the stormy forecast and made the evening such a success. Your voices, your questions, and your presence mean everything to us. We can’t wait to keep building on what we heard from you.
