Introducing Madison Credit Union’s Rising Minds Scholarship

Empowering the next generation — one bright mind at a time.

At Madison Credit Union, we believe a strong financial foundation can help young people rise to their full potential. That’s why we’re proud to introduce the Rising Minds Scholarship — a $1,000 scholarship designed to support students who are ready to grow, lead, and shape the future.

Whether you’re headed to a four-year university, technical college, or other accredited post-secondary program, this scholarship is here to help lighten the financial load and recognize the drive it takes to take that next big step. Two scholarships will be awarded:

  • Emerging Scholars — for high school seniors just beginning their higher education journey.
  • Returning Scholars — for members continuing or returning to school to further their education.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Be eligible for graduation at the end of the 2026–2027 school year, or have already graduated high school
  • Meet one of the following:
    • Standard Path: Member for at least 6 months prior to the application deadline, with account activity within the prior 2 months
    • Family Legacy Path: Have a parent, grandparent, or legal guardian who has been an MCU member for at least 12 months — applicant must be a member for at least 4 weeks prior to the deadline, with account activity within that month.
  • High School Scholarship applicants Only: Be accepted to and planning to enroll full-time in an accredited post-secondary program, including colleges, universities, trade schools, and vocational programs, leading to a degree, certificate, or credential
  • Returning Student Scholarship applicants Only: Be enrolled at least half-time in an accredited post-secondary program, including colleges, universities, trade schools, and vocational programs, leading to a degree, certificate, or credential

MCU employees, Board members, and their families are not eligible. Previous scholarship winners are ineligible. Members who have caused a loss to the credit union are ineligible. MCU reserves the right to review eligibility at the time of application review.
