2025 Annual Meeting Recap
A Look Back at Our Recent Annual Meeting
We wrapped up another successful MCU Annual Meeting on February 10th, in an evening filled with great food, lively games, exciting credit union updates, and a cash raffle!
From the moment members arrived, they were warmly welcomed by MCU’s long-time loan staff, Laura and Nancy. The event took place in the beautiful Bea & Lau Christensen Room at the Goodman Center, where guests enjoyed smooth jazz, a cash bar, and cooking-themed game tables hosted by MCU staff Oliver, Scott, and Bree.
The evening kicked off with a delicious hors d’oeuvre service at 4:15, catered by Goodman’s TEENWorks program—a fantastic initiative that provides teens with hands-on culinary training in a commercial kitchen. Through this program, young chefs gain skills in food preparation, safety, and the science behind different cuisines.
Key Credit Union Updates
At 5:00 PM, MCU Board Chairman Robin Piper officially called the meeting to order. He highlighted the work of a new Board Subcommittee, composed of MCU Board members and staff, focused on encouraging more members to get involved in leadership roles on the MCU Board and Associate Board. Robin also opened the floor for discussion on enhancing credit union operations, services, and facilities.
Treasurer’s Report
MCU Board Secretary Tom Sakash shared the Treasurer’s Report, noting continued growth in MCU loans in 2024, particularly in auto and personal loans. He also provided a brief economic outlook, touching on inflation and interest rates.
President’s Report
MCU President Ilene Fritschler delivered an inspiring President’s Report, reflecting on service and operational improvements made in 2024 and announcing exciting upgrades for 2025. Members can look forward to:
- New debit cards with mobile wallet, tap-to-pay, and instant-issue capabilities
- A new phone system for better member support
- A higher education scholarship to help support our young members’ futures
