Happening Now – Caller ID Spoofing

As of Monday, December 16th, we’ve been made aware of the latest phishing tactic used by scammers that is affecting our members. This time, they are spoofing our phone number and claiming to be from our fraud department.

Our legitimate fraud department is based in Omaha, Nebraska, and will call from 1-800-327-8622. They will NEVER ask for personal information; they will only ask you to verify transactions.

Spoofing is a form of phishing in which scammers intentionally alter the information displayed on your caller ID to impersonate somebody else or an organization, like us.

If you receive a call from our number, (608) 266-4750, and the person is asking for information in an urgent manner, please hang up. If they tell you that you must act immediately and cannot call back, hang up right away. They may provide a false account number to try to pry the legitimate account number out of you or use other tactics to trick you into leaking personal information.

If you feel even the slightest bit uneasy, trust your instincts and hang up. Call our number back to verify if the phone call was legitimate.
